It should be noted that this study found a significant of the Catholic population to the South and West.
It should also be noted that the top ten states with the largest Catholic populations: California, New York, Texas, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Florida, Ohio and Michigan control 255 votes in the Electoral College, just 15 less than the 270 needed to win the presidency.
